Mammography is a low-dose x-ray examination of the breasts. It is used to detect early cancer of the breasts in women, who experience no symptoms, and to detect and diagnose breast disease in patients experiencing symptoms such as a lump, pain or nipple discharge. Results of a mammographic study may be correlated with those of breast ultrasound, to obtain a better diagnosis.
At King City Imaging, we utilize state-of-the-art, full-field digital equipment, operated by fully trained and accredited staff. Our facility, equipment and staff undergo ongoing assessments and accreditation through the Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) and Accreditation Canada to ensure that we meet and/or exceed all quality requirements.
