Mammogram King City, Ontario – Mammography Screening
3D Tomosynthesis mammography for women with dense breast tissue
King City Medical Imaging proudly offers advanced 3D Tomosynthesis (3D Mammography), including for women with dense breast tissue. This technology captures detailed, three-dimensional images, allowing radiologists to examine the breast layer by layer for improved cancer detection. 3D mammography is especially beneficial for dense breasts, increasing accuracy while reducing unnecessary callback appointments.
What is Mammography
Mammography is a specialized X-ray examination used to produce detailed images of breast tissue. It plays an important role in the early detection and evaluation of breast abnormalities, including breast cancer.
Mammograms may be performed as a screening examination for individuals without symptoms or as a diagnostic examination to further evaluate a breast concern identified by a healthcare provider or previous imaging.
At King City Diagnostic Imaging, mammography examinations are performed by qualified Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists (MRITs) using digital mammography equipment. Images are interpreted by a radiologist, and the results are provided to your referring healthcare provider.

Frequently Asked Questions
Mammography is a low-dose X-ray exam used to screen for breast cancer before symptoms appear, or to further investigate a specific concern such as a lump or change identified during a clinical exam.
Through the Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP), eligible Ontario residents aged 50 to 74 can receive an OHIP-covered screening mammogram every two years, and those at higher risk may qualify for more frequent screening starting at a younger age; full program and eligibility details are available directly from the Ontario Breast Screening Program. General information on breast cancer screening and OHIP coverage is also available on the Government of Ontario’s website.
Diagnostic mammograms ordered by a physician to investigate a specific symptom require a requisition, while OBSP screening eligibility rules may differ. To find out whether a requisition is needed and to book a mammogram in King City, contact our clinic or schedule your appointment. Book your Mammogram King City appointment today.
